Hailing from New York’s verdant Hudson Valley, Goodnight Brother is the moniker of singer-songwriter Dante DeFelice. Initially establishing himself through the modest arrangement of voice and acoustic guitar, DeFelice soon found his talent for storytelling and lyrical composition. His songs are rich with symbolism and metaphor, lending each album a narrative that is distinctly its own. Goodnight Brother is an ever-changing showcase of hometown heroes, with percussionist Lee Falco and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Barki as permanent fixtures in the band. The coalescence of various talents and continued inclusion of new musical elements in Goodnight Brother makes it difficult to cast them into a single genre. Instead, they sit astride multiple lines approaching indie-rock, folk, hi-fi garage rock, and surf rock.
