Formed in October 2012, the four mammals of Mammal Dap came together over a shared love of hip hop, soul, and funk. Rhees and Colin first began collaborating back in high school via MySpace, trading recordings of amateur beats and ambient instrumentals. Zack and Killian both moved to Western Mass a few years ago after finishing school. The four eventually met while playing in different bands throughout the area. They quickly discovered they had common musical ground and immediately got to work writing and recording in Rhees’s basement.

Their initial goal was to make music that would leave bodies moving and ears lifted. That goal has since evolved into a hunger to craft and perfect their unique blend of future soul and psychedelic R&B.
